Women Can Startup (“we”, “our”) operates the website womencanstartup.com. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Information you provide. If you fill the contact, pitch, partner or newsletter forms, we receive the fields you submit (name, email, message).
  • Engagement data. When you read, like or comment on an article, we record an anonymous visitor ID stored in a first-party cookie. We do not link this to your identity.
  • The Build Network. When you join our founder community or marketplace, we store your email, anything you add to your profile (name, city, a short headline), and the content you post. If you book a workshop or 1:1 session, or apply as a service provider or mentor, we also collect the WhatsApp number you provide so our team can send you joining details, reminders and related updates on WhatsApp.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count page-views. GA may set its own cookies; see Google’s policy for details.

How we use it

  • To reply to messages you send us.
  • To send the newsletter (only if you opt in).
  • To run The Build Network — show your posts and profile to other members, moderate the community, and process bookings and applications.
  • To message Build Network members on WhatsApp about workshops, 1:1 sessions and community updates, where you’ve shared your number for that purpose.
  • To keep you informed by email. Build Network members are added to our subscriber list so we can share community and site updates; you can unsubscribe at any time from the link in every email.
  • To improve the magazine — see what people are reading.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept for as long as the relationship is active. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email; we delete the address from active mailing within 7 days. Anonymous engagement data is retained for 24 months.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We rely on third-party processors (Brevo for email; WhatsApp/Meta where we message Build Network members who’ve shared a number; Google Analytics for traffic; Railway and Cloudflare for infrastructure). Each has its own privacy policy.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
